This painting was made for the Character Design Challenge. As you can tell, the global idea is heavely inspired by Peter Mohrbacher's Angelarium, as much as some of Beksinski's paintings that I love.
The rest being my go-to themes : books, Middle-Ages and architecture to lose myself in details.

First sketch, to get my idea on paper. As always, the drawing is stiff and needs a lot of developpment, but that's where everything begins.

Clean line on the character, rough work for the background, which I developped straight with paint.
